Delivery & Returns

DELIVERY UK

All orders (except large or heavyweight items) placed before 3.00pm, subject to necessary checks will be dispatched the same day, excluding weekends & Local or Bank Holidays. Orders received after 3.00pm on a Friday will not be processed until the following Monday. We do not deliver on a weekend. Orders placed on a Friday before 3.00pm requesting next day service will not be delivered until the following Monday. Lead times for delivery will be extended over public holidays, we endeavour to regularly update the website with cut off dates to ensure your order arrives in time. Whilst 99% of UK locations can be delivered/are valid for next day delivery there are a few remote locations that may take longer. Please click here to view list.

DELIVERY & BILLING ADDRESS 

We can deliver to an alternate UK address, however, when placing an order you MUST use the correct billing address of where your debit/credit card is registered where prompted. Due to the nature of the products which we sell, we operate a strict fraud screening process and therefore we are only able to offer our next day delivery services if the order is validated by our network easily. In almost all cases, this is a straightforward process and can be completed immediately. If this is not the case (e.g. you specify an alternative residential address as the delivery location which resides in another county to the billing address) there may be a delay of a few hours while we perform the appropriate checks. If we are unable to validate your order, you will receive an email to inform you of this.

DELIVERY CHARGES

Our UK delivery charges are based on the total value of your order.

  • Orders under £50.00 will be sent via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery or FED EX Courier Economy (3 working days), standard fee - £4.50
  • Orders between £50.00 and £100.00 will be sent via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery or FED EX Courier Economy (3 working days), standard fee - FREE
  • All orders under £100.00 requiring Next Day Delivery will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery (by 1PM) or FED EX Courier (Next Day), standard fee - £6.95
  • Orders over £100.00 will be sent via Royal Mail Special Next Day Delivery (by 1PM) or FED EX Courier (Next Day), standard fee - FREE

LARGE / HEAVYWEIGHT ITEMS

Any orders placed weighing over 2kg will be sent via FED EX courier service (1-3 working days) which will require a signature upon receipt. Large or heavyweight item orders must be placed by 11am to guarantee same day dispatch, excluding weekends & Local or Bank Holidays. Should you wish to track your item please contact us and an email will be sent with a tracking number to help you know when to expect your parcel. COLLECT IN STORE - FREE

To collect your order in store at Sinclairs Jewellers, please select this option at checkout. For security purposes, the person who placed the order must collect it from the store and must take along a copy of the emailed invoice with the order number. If your order is a gift for someone else, they cannot collect the order. Your order must be collected from the store within 30 days.

GIFT RECEIPTS

Sinclairs can arrange a gift receipt to be sent with your parcel. This is useful if you are sending the parcel direct to the person receiving the gift. The gift receipt will have all the relevant information minus the price paid. A copy of the full invoice will be sent to the billing address by email or by post if requested. To arrange a gift receipt please tick the GIFT RECEIPT box at checkout and we will be delighted to process this for you. *PLEASE NOTE: A GIFT RECEIPT CAN BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH A COMPLETED RETURNS FORM WITHIN 14 DAYS TO OBTAIN A CREDIT NOTE ONLY, REDEEMABLE ONLINE AT WWW.SINCLAIRSJEWELLERS.CO.UK. IF YOU RETURN AN ITEM USING OUR RETURNS FORM WITHIN 14 DAYS REQUESTING A FULL REFUND THEN THE REFUND WILL BE MADE TO THE PURCHASER AND NOT THE RECEIVER OF THE GIFT(S).*

DELIVERY PROCESS

Due to the nature and value of our products all deliveries require a signature upon receipt. Please ensure that you inspect all packaging to check that it has not been tampered with in any way. If it does appear to have been tampered with, you should refuse delivery. If the delivery is accepted, you will have entered into a contract to accept the item in its delivered state and, as such, we cannot assume liability for any subsequent issues surrounding loss or damage. If there is no one at the address supplied at the time of delivery then your item(s) will be taken to the nearest Royal Mail or Fedex sorting centre, where it is YOUR responsibility to collect or arrange re-delivery. If you do not collect your items, or have them re-delivered, within 5 working days then your item(s) will then be sent back to Sinclairs Jewellers where you will have to pay for re-delivery. Items over 2kg are sent by courier and if there is no one in at the time of delivery a notifying card will be left stating the tracking number and local depot telephone number and it is YOUR responsibility to re-arrange a suitable delivery day. If you do not re-arrange delivery after 5 working days then the items will be returned to Sinclairs where you will have to pay for re-delivery.

DELIVERY TIMESCALES/DELAYS

We endeavour to process orders as soon as possible and the majority of our orders within UK mainland are delivered within 24 hours of being received, provided it is before the 3.00pm deadline. Please be aware that there may be rare circumstances where our shipping capacity may be exceeded and cause a delay of one extra day. We regret that this situation can occur and, should this occur, your order will be marked for urgent delivery the following day. In the event of a delay causing delivery not to be processed for next day then a notifying email will be sent. As we use a third party for deliveries we cannot be held responsible for late deliveries due to postal strikes, transport strikes and incidents such as flood, drought or severe snow. These circumstances are rare and we will do our very best to take responsibility and rectify the situation as quickly as possible.

However if you have deemed the item(s) purchased to be not suitable, faulty or if you have simply changed your mind please ensure you fill out our returns form issued with your parcel. FOR HYGIENE REASONS WE CANNOT REFUND OR EXCHANGE THE PURCHASES OF EARRINGS.
ITEMS WHICH HAVE BEEN PERSONALLY COMMISSIONED OR PERSONALISED WITH ENGRAVING ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR REFUND UNLESS DEEMED TO BE FAULTY.
PLEASE NOTE - SINCLAIRS JEWELLERS DO NOT REFUND THE COST OF POSTAGE FOR RETURNING ITEMS, HOWEVER IF THE ITEM IS DEEMED FAULTY OR NOT MATCHING THE ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION THEN POSTAGE BACK TO SINCLAIRS JEWELLERS MAY BE CLAIMED.
WATCH ADJUSTMENTS MADE BY A 3RD PARTY OR CARRIED OUT USING IMPROPER TOOLS/EQUIPMENT ARE NON REFUNDABLE.
ALL ITEMS MUST BE RETURNED IN THE SAME CONDITION AS THEY WERE SHIPPED, INCLUDING BOX, INSTRUCTIONS, GUARANTEE AND ANY EXTRAS OR A REFUND CANNOT BE ISSUED.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE GOODS ARE INSURED TO THEIR FULL VALUE WHEN RETURNING TO US TO COVER LOSS OR DAMAGE THROUGH THE POSTAL SYSTEM.
RETURNS CAN ONLY BE COMPLETED USING THE ORIGINAL METHOD OF PAYMENT.

RETURNS UK 

You understand that Sinclairs Jewellers services will commence as soon as Sinclairs Jewellers receives and processes your initial payment. The shopper has the right to cancel within 14 calendar days of their contract with us. The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the goods. To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement on a durable medium (e.g. a letter sent by post, fax or e-mail). You may use the above attached model Sinclairs Jewellers Returns form, but it is not obligatory. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired. We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay. You may request replacement products, which we will dispatch to you (subject to availability) on receipt of the original products, which were not satisfactory, from you. No refund will be made in these circumstances & there is only 14 days for this action.

If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).

You shall send back the goods or hand them over to Sinclairs Jewellers, 63 Market Place, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire AB51 3PY without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods, however, if the item is not fit for purpose or does not match the original description then a full refund including return postage can be claimed. The Goods must be returned in perfect re-saleable condition, including the original Presentation/Gift Boxes and documentation where applicable. We reserve the right not to refund or offer a partial refund on returned Goods that do not comply with the above.

We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than:
(a) 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied, or
(b) (if earlier) 14 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods
We strive to process refunds as quickly as possible and you will receive an email or telephone call to notify you when the refund has been processed.

EXTENDED RETURNS PERIOD - CHRISTMAS 2016

Any gifts purchased online between 15/11/16 and 28/12/16 can be returned anytime before midnight on 16/01/17. Purchases made after 28/12/16 will be subject to our normal 14 day returns policy.

BREAKAGES

Breakages must be reported on day of delivery, we recommend that parcels are opened at time of delivery and signature. If you find an item to be damaged or if goods are not received within 7 days please contact us on 01467 620275. In the unlikely event that you receive an item broken or faulty we will replace it Free of Charge.

EXCHANGES

If you wish to exchange a purchase for another item, please just return your unwanted item for a refund and order a new item.
