T&H Sinclair trading as Sinclairs Jewellers ("we", "us", "our") operates a comprehensive policy for privacy and security. This privacy policy explains what information we collect about you, how we may use it, and the steps we take to ensure that it is kept secure. We also explain your rights and how to contact us. All of our data collection and storage conforms to the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation, 2018. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation 2018, Sinclairs Jewellers is the data controller.

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT FROM YOU

Technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform.

PERSONAL INFORMATION YOU MAY GIVE TO US

You have the option to sign up for a Loyalty Card account in-store which will give you discounts on future purchases by adhering to the agreed terms and conditions. We store your contact details in our client database if you register for a Loyalty Card account with us. This enables you to use your Sinclairs Jewellers Loyalty Card without having to provide your details again and will keep a history of your previous purchases. If you leave a repair or valuation with us we will store your contact details on our main client database and those details will also be transferred to our repairs system to allow us to track progress and keep a history of your repairs/valuations. Your written contact details and consent will be required to proceed with our ear piercing service. Your written contact details will be required and held temporarily for engraving, watch batteries and adjustments or specially ordering in an item not currently in stock.

You have the option to contact us online using our "Contact Us" form on our website or through private messaging on our social media pages. Your name, telephone number and email address will be temporarily stored on our Gmail email servers until your enquiry has been fully dealt with.

You have the option to contact us publicly or through private messenger on our Facebook, Instagram or Twitter social media pages.

WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We aim to store the minimal amount of information possible. We will use the personal information gathered in our normal course of business primarily to provide the products and services you have requested and also for administration purposes:

We do not store your sensitive credit card information.

If you have opted in to our newsletter we will also use the personal information gathered for marketing purposes. Sinclairs, acting as the controller, will transfer to and store your contact details within the email marketing application, Mailchimp. The Mailchimp application, acting as the processor, will be used to design and send marketing emails to keep you informed of any new products, special offers and competitions at Sinclairs.

RETENTION PERIOD OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We store your personal information for at least for the duration of any customer relationship we have with you, or as otherwise required by law (normally up to a maximum of 7 years for legal and tax reasons).

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We do not disclose, rent or lease any information submitted to us to 3rd parties for marketing purposes. We do not send marketing emails to random personal email address (spam), however from time to time we may send news and special offers to customer email addresses who have signed up to our newsletter.

We may disclose information to the investigating authorities such as the police, customs and excise or if required to do so by law.

We may transfer your personal information to a third party as part of a sale of some or all of our business and assets to any third party or as part of any business restructuring or reorganisation.

Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
